Global Food (grain legumes) Security and Role of Biopesticides

Аннотация Population scenario:- The global population reached more than 6.62 billion in 2008 and it continuous to grow by about 80 million each year. The world population is projected to grow about 7.97 billion in 2025 and 9.25 billion in 2050 and much of this increase would occur in developing countries. During 2007, China occupied first position with 1.32 billion people followed by India with a population of 1.13 billion. However, by 2050 India would overtake China to occupy the first position with a population of 1.74 billion followed by China with a 1.43 billion people. Such demographic changes would have profound implications for economy, environment, health and quality of life of people (PRB, 2007. About 2 billion people lack food security and population pressure have degraded about 2 billion hectares of arable land.
